Who we are
The MobileWorks team was brought together by a common vision: to reinvent crowdsourcing as an engine for technological and social change. The team combines world-class expertise in the science of crowdsourcing, international development, mobile application engineering, and innovative user design with a wealth of entrepreneurial experience. Everybody builds and everybody solves problems.
The technologies behind MobileWorks were originally developed at UC Berkeley's
ICT for Social Enterprise and crowdsourcing research programs.
Team
Philipp Gutheim
Philipp leads the business development and operations of MobileWorks. He has 3 years experiences as an IT consultant, worked at India's largest outsourcing company Infosys, and conducted research at Vodafone R&D. Philipp founded his first company at 17, has published two books and is an author at IEEE Communication Magazine. He holds a bachelor's degree in Business Administration and is on leave from two master degrees in Computer Science and Information Management & Systems at UC Berkeley.
Anand Kulkarni
Anand brings a wealth of entrepreneurial and scientific experience to the team as Chief Hustler. As a mathematician, roboticist, and National Science Foundation fellow at UC Berkeley, he developed fundamentally new techniques to bring fairness and accuracy to the practice of crowdsourcing, as well as teaching undergraduate coursework in enterpreneurship. Anand holds degrees in mathematics, physics, industrial engineering, and operations research from UC Berkeley.
Prayag Narula
Prayag leads engineering and technology development for tomorrow's crowdsourcing engine. Before MobileWorks, Prayag worked at Finland's top research institute as an expert in Ubiquitous Interaction and build mobile applications and embedded systems in Delhi's startup scene. He is an author of several book chapters and papers on Human Computer Interaction, Computer Networks and Network Security. Prayag holds a BS in Computer Science and is on leave from graduate work at UC Berkeley's School of Information.
David Rolnitzky
David heads up design and product strategy for MobileWorks. He brings 10 years of industry experience in consumer technology to the team, including recent work at Mozilla where he led user acquisition strategy and marketing initiatives for Firefox. He holds a Master's degree from UC Berkeley in Information Management & Systems with an emphasis on User Experience Design and a BS in Business Administration. Besides MobileWorks, David completed Ironmans and runs Marathons.
